COVID-19 Mental Health Resources (English only)
Due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is understandable that we all face different challenges. It is important for students to stay not only physically healthy but also taking a moment to concern about mental health wellness. Here are some tips for managing your mental health wellness under the pandemic situation:
1. Keeping emotionally connected with others
Although we need to keep our social distance, we are always able to stay connected with our family and friends in different ways. We encourage you to actively outreach with your family and friends by expressing your concerns and feelings. Maybe just open up the conversation with “Hey, how are you doing? are you safe? ” or”It’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other, just checking up with you”.
2. Managing your worries and anxiety
Have worries and anxious feelings is a very common reaction in our daily life. There is no right or wrong about how many should I worry or how anxious should I be. As long as it doesn’t affect your daily living (Such as: Can’t attend your classes, Avoiding to get out of your house) then you should be fine. However, if you feel like you want to understand more about your situation, feel free to make an appointment with our counsellor (click here) or fill up an online questionnaire to have a grasp of your mental status(click here).
3. Self-care
Self-care plays a very important part in our mental health, especially under the pandemic situation, self-care has been a fundamental element to help us move on and overcome the difficult times under restrictions of the pandemic. It is never too much to arrange some “ME time” for yourself and there are always a few minutes for you to feel your breath and be grateful for all you efforts that you have made in your living life.
