In celebration of its 40th anniversary, the Hong Kong Institute for Promotion of Chinese Culture organized a Cultural Gala on 10 April. The event brought together cultural enthusiasts from academia, the arts and various sectors of the society. Interim President Ms. Jane Zhang of Hong Kong Chu Hai College, along with a group of students, attended to support this grand occasion and jointly commemorate this significant milestone.
Held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall in Tsim Sha Tsui, the gala presented a cultural feast interwoven with music and dance, showcasing a variety of precious intangible cultural heritage arts. Through diverse performance forms, such as recitations, dances, Cantonese opera, and Kunqu opera, the event highlighted the 4,000-year splendor of Chinese culture. It inspired the audience to cherish these classics while fostering exploration and understanding of the future, allowing everyone to appreciate the artistic essence of different eras and collectively witness the glorious development of Chinese culture.
