Follow-up Activity: Traditional Mini Floral Plaque (Fa Pai) Workshop – An Intangible Cultural Heritage Craft
Following the Tin Hau Festival Experience Workshop, we are pleased to invite you to another intangible cultural heritage activity – the “Traditional Mini Floral Plaque (Fa Pai) Workshop”.
“Piece by piece – bamboo and paper come together to tell the stories of old Hong Kong.”
Floral plaque (Fa Pai) making is a traditional craft inscribed onto Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage list. It is not merely a continuation of craftsmanship but also a reflection of Hong Kong’s collective memory and local way of life. These colourful decorative plaques are often used in festive celebrations, religious events, and shop openings. Every brushstroke of calligraphy and every paper flower carries good wishes and deep cultural significance.
