Invitation to Western Calligraphy Workshop
Dear students,
We are delighted to invite you to join our Western Calligraphy Workshop.
This Year, we are honoured to have Miss Vanness Yan (殷飛小姐) joining us as workshop tutor. Miss Yan is a council member of Alpha Beta Club (Society of Western Calligraphic Art) with over 20 years’ experience in writing Western Calligraphy.
The Italic handwriting developed in Renaissance Italy. Through studying classical 19th-century manuscripts in Europe, Italian scholars developed this compressed and unusual slanting style.
Western Calligraphy is a matter of beautiful handwriting. It can be applied to diverse ranges of visual artworks. This workshop covers the (Italic) letterforms techniques including choice of tools and equipment, pen angles, proportions, letter construction and border design, while the presenting style remains easy and interesting.
